Naha, Matsuyama — A Eight-Seat Counter

Casual omakase, then whatever you like.

Komakase
The beginning of a new sushi culture.

The name "Komakase" carries two meanings: a "small omakase" and a "finely-tuned omakase."
After this relaxed, modestly-sized "Komakase" course leaves you comfortably satisfied, please feel free to continue ordering whatever you like.
Of course, we're just as happy to serve you entirely à la carte from the start.
After all, ordering freely is where sushi began.
Whether it's "Komakase" or "Omakase," from the very moment you place your trust in us, body and soul, we meet each piece with the same care, with the same attention, so that the moment you leave your seat stays with you.
From beginning to end, this is a small sushi restaurant watched over by a single chef alone.
From the start of a connection to its fruition as a memory— we call this "Kiketsu (起結)" and it is the philosophy at the root of the restaurant.
Sushi Komakase is the first chapter of that story.
Please, come casually, any time.

Komakase
The beginning of a new sushi culture.

The name “Komakase” carries two meanings:
a small omakase, and an omakase prepared with care and attention to every detail.
Our Komakase is intentionally modest in size—
just enough to satisfy, without filling you completely.
Afterward, we invite you to enjoy whatever you like, okonomi-style, choosing freely from the menu.
Of course, you are always welcome to dine entirely okonomi from the very beginning.
We would be delighted to prepare each piece as you wish.
After all, okonomi is where sushi began.

Whether you choose Komakase or Omakase, from the moment you place yourself in our hands, we approach every piece with care, paying close attention to every detail, so that when you leave your seat, you take with you a moment worth remembering.
From beginning to end, every guest is looked after by one chef alone.
From the moment a connection begins to the moment it becomes a lasting memory— we call this “Kiketsu” (起結):
a beginning, and its culmination.
It is the philosophy at the heart of everything we do.
Sushi Komakase is the first place where this story begins.
Come as you are.
Come as often as you like.

Junya Maruyama

Trained in Nagoya, Ginza,
and Naha —
a sushi craftsman with 25 years of experience

Born in Owari, he trained in Nagoya and Ginza before coming to Naha. After 25 years devoted to sushi, he opened this restaurant here in Naha's Matsuyama district.

His journey in cooking began with a plate of fried rice he made for his mother as a junior high school student. Discovering the joy of bringing happiness to others, he carried that feeling into a career as a chef. Among all the culinary paths open to him, he chose sushi because it brings him closest to his guests.

Building a conversation with every piece he serves, facing each guest individually, he wants to deliver the very best piece of the day. It's with that spirit that he opens his doors every day.
